Sweet Potato Chaat

Has anyone ever seen a sad face while having a Sweet Potato chaat? Chaats are probably the best Indian street food ever. It’s literally a treat for the taste buds; spicy, tangy, sweet…all at once. Not just that, they are supposed to be the major mood up lifter as well. Ever heard of food therapy? So, next time when sadness hits, turn towards chaats!

With quite a common notion held against chaats, of them being unhealthy, this Sweet Potato Chaat recipe is going to turn the tables – chaats can be healthy too! This recipe makes use of Sendha Namak, a rock salt, which is perfect during those fasting days.

It’ll become the most favorite 5PM snack in no time and can also be served on the side during lunch or dinner.

Ingredients
3 Sweet Potatoes
1 Cup Tamarind Chutney
1 Cup Mint Chutney
1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper
1 Tablespoon Lime Juice
1 Tablespoon Oregano
2 Green chilies, chopped finely
3 cloves of garlic, chopped finely 2 Tablespoon Azafran’s Basil Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Sendha Namak (rock salt) as needed
Coriander leaves for garnishing

Preparation
Peel all the three sweet potatoes first and boil them. Make sure they are not over boiled, so steaming them will be a better option.
Now, chop them and take them into a mixing bowl
Add finely chopped green chilies and garlic first, mix them well.
Then add both the chutneys; mint and tamarind along with black pepper, oregano and sendha namak. Blend the mixture well.
Top it with lime juice and Azafran’s Basil Infused EVOO, this will give a rich taste and fragrance to the dish.
Garnish the Sweet Potato Chaat bowl with coriander before serving it.
